Dear Colleagues,

Academy of Distinguished Teaching and the UCR Office of Undergraduate Education are soliciting nominations for the 2020 Junior Faculty Excellence in Teaching (JET) Award. The JET award recognizes superior teaching at the Assistant Professor level. All ladder-rank Senate faculty members who are pre-tenure at the time of nomination are eligible (this includes Assistant Professors of Teaching/Lecturers with Potential for Security of Employment).

The JET award honors junior faculty members whose early career record demonstrates the commitment and determination of an outstanding teacher while pursuing research excellence. Hallmarks of the successful nominees are vibrancy, passion, and devotion to the teaching mission, as well as the efficacy of results.

Winners will receive the title UC Riverside Junior Faculty Distinguished Teaching Professor, in addition to a one-time monetary award. The Awardee(s) will be honored at a campus-wide Symposium on Teaching Excellence and Innovation, followed by a Celebration of Teaching reception, in the Fall of 2020.

The awardee will be selected by members of the Academy of Distinguished Teaching. The deadline for receipt of application materials is Winter 2021.
