This Fall Quarter, the UCR Academy of Distinguished Teaching will be hosting its annual "start the year strong" series, Teaching Foundations Workshops. New and returning faculty, graduate students, postdocs, and lecturers are all welcome!

Participants who attend in-person for at least four of the five workshops will receive a letter from the Vice Provost and Dean of Undergraduate Education Louie Rodriguez for your personnel files indicating your investment in your improving teaching efforts. And there will be cookies & coffee each week to keep your energy up! 

 These workshops will be held weekly on Tuesday afternoons from 4-5:30pm in the XCITE Commons, Rivera Library A0101A, on the following dates:

• Week 3 (10/13)
• Week 4 (10/20)
• Week 5 (10/27)
• Week 6 (11/3)
• Week 7 (11/10)

We will be discussing the following topics (order TBD):

• Designing Your Course – Choosing What Your Students Will Learn
• Designing Your Course – Choosing How Your Students Will Work
• Engage, Explore, and Empower – Examples of Active Learning Strategies for the Classroom
• Students, TAs, and You, Oh My! Strategies for Coordinating Your Course
